A brand-new The Boys Season 4 set photo indicates Black Noir's come back to the Prime Video series despite his apparent death in Season 3.

The third season of The Boys came to a dramatic conclusion, supposedly killing Queen Maeve, putting Soldier Boy into cryosleep, and making it clear that Black Noir was brutally murdered by Homelander.

The latter is a little more complex, though, as those who are familiar with Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comics know. Showrunner Eric Kripke in recent months, addressed this issue, saying that these supes might ultimately return to The Boys.

Black Noir Spotted on The Boys Season 4 Set

Nonetheless, it appears like Black Noir's break will be shorter than the others. Leaked set photos shared on Twitter by Comicodigy (@comicodigy) show someone dressed as Black Noir and wandering around the set.

The Boys Season 4 filming has just begun, and the first photo shows Noir among other remaining members of The Seven, such as The Deep and A-Train, as well as The Boys newbies Sister Sage and Firecracker.

How Black Noir Could Return on The Boys Season 4

Given Black Noir's image of invincibility throughout The Boys' three seasons, it's unsurprising that some people mistakenly believed the character would appear in Season 4 despite having been harmed by Homelander in the Season 3 finale.

However, Kripke would later affirm that Nathan Mitchell, the actor who played Black Noir, was still committed to returning for The Boys Season 4, even if he would be portraying a different character who would assume the name after the original's passing.

It does seem possible that Earving, the original Black Noir, may still rejoin the group, given that the show frequently uses flashbacks to explore its story.

Given that Jessie T. Usher's A-Train can be seen wearing his old suit in The Boys Season 4 set photos, one could speculate that Black Noir's appearance will be in a set photo or during the filming of a new in-universe Seven movie to help explain the character's death to the public, similar to Charlize Theron's cameo as Stormfront in Season 3.

However, the photos are also revealing. With Ryan, Homelander's son, present among the supes, it appears that this is the first look of the next Black Noir in action.

The Boys Season 4 Release Date

We are unsure of the exact release date for the next season because The Boys Season 4 was only recently announced in June. On the other hand, given previous season wait periods, it's expected that the season's debut will air between the summer of 2023 and the spring of 2024.

Meanwhile, fans can watch the first three seasons of The Boys on Prime Video while we wait.
