Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Script is 'Long Past the First Draft' Says James Gunn

With James Gunn's The Suicide Squad still hoping to make its August 2021 release date, a lot of us are sure that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 won't be happening anytime soon. Maybe if they didn't necessarily fire him when 10-year-old tweets of his were rooted out by Trump's fans, we would have gotten the movie earlier but there's no point crying over spilled milk.

Since self-quarantining has made everyone antsy, fans are tweeting to celebrities more than they usually have. One fan decided to tell James Gunn that he is excited for GOTG Vol. 3 and hopes that the script won't let him down. This is after Gunn talked about script drafts and how it can be difficult getting the first one out.

Thankfully, fans won't have to worry too much about when the script will be done since Gunn replied that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is long past the first draft. We can't say for sure if it's completely finished but knowing Gunn, he probably has most of the movie mapped out. He will also likely make changes if some big event hits the MCU.

It's really good to know that Gunn is still working hard on his Marvel baby, even while working on a big project for DC. We really hope that his version of The Suicide Squad has its own identity since no one wants it to be a rehash of Guardians of the Galaxy. In fairness, Gunn has supposedly read every Suicide Squad comic ever made to get ready for the movie, so he probably knows a thing or two.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 doesn't have a proper release date, as of this writing. The Suicide Squadwill be coming out next April.
