Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Production Date Reportedly Takes Place Before The Suicide Squad's Release

James Gunn is a man of two worlds as the director is helming both The Suicide Squad and the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the latter of which does not have a release date yet. Gunn has previously stated that work on his Marvel trilogy's final part will not start until editing for The Suicide Squad has been finished and it looks like that's almost done if this new production date for the Marvel film has supposedly been released.

According to a production listing, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will start shooting on February 2021, which is a couple of months away from The Suicide Squad. Thankfully, the shooting has finished for Gunn's DCEU debut so there won't be any problems when it comes to the director making red carpet appearances. Plus, the third film in this trilogy doesn't even have a release date right now.

Honestly, we're more interested in the content of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 over its production date since the movie will detail the crew's post-Endgame adventure. We want to know how 2012 Gamora will feel about meeting Star-Lord now that she doesn't have the same feelings she once had. Gunn has also teased that Rocket will play a major part so that should be interesting as well.

The Suicide Squad will reportedly make its August 2021 release date and has mostly finished shooting. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not have a release date, as of this writing.
