There is little doubt that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 featured a lot of interesting new characters. However, James Gunn seems to be particularly fond of the adorable Blurp and thinks that the furry little monster deserves his own plushie.
James Gunn recently posted a new image of Blurp on his official Twitter account and not surprisingly, fans were loving the post. One fan asked if there will eventually be a Blurp plush released as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 merchandise and Gunn revealed he had wanted Marvel Studios to produce one.
"Your guess is as good as mine. I told the studio during filming we needed one!" he wrote.
It's no surprise that James Gunn wanted a Blurp plushie. After all, the adorable character stole just about every scene he was in. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 even teased the monster possibly appearing in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Rocket took over as the new team's leader and immediately took the gang on a mission. The new team consists of a fully-grown Groot, Cosmo the Spacedog, Kraglin, Phyla, Adam Warlock, and yes, even Blurp.
That's right, Blurp is officially a Guardian of the Galaxy and is bound to reappear in upcoming MCU projects. With that in mind, that plushie could already be in development. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone from the first and second Guardians films.
Chukwudi Iwuji and Will Poulter join the Vol. 3 cast as the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock, respectively.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now screening in theaters worldwide.
