Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Confirms Storyboarding has Started

We won't get to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 until 2023 but it looks like James Gunn is already preparing to work on the sequel. The Suicide Squad director has just confirmed that he has already started working on storyboards for the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

Gunn has always been open to sharing details about his projects on social media. Fellow filmmaker Alexander Viahos recently tweeted about the hilarious Vol. 2 moment where Kurt Russell's Ego called Rocket Raccoon a "triangle-faced monkey" and Gunn was quick to retweet with more details about the scene.

"It actually made me laugh every time Kurt said it, as did Rocket sadly touching his face afterwards, wondering if it really is shaped like a triangle," Gunn wrote. He then continued by confirming he is now working on storyboards for the sequel.

"As I'm drawing storyboards right this moment for Vol 3, a tedious task, it's good to be reminded of these enjoyable moments," Gunn wrote.

It's great to know that Gunn is always having fun working on the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. This isn't exactly a surprise considering that he's working with cool characters and an awesome cast. Needless to say, we can't wait to find out what Gunn has planned for the third film.

For now, it sounds like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still in development and might not begin production soon. Nevertheless, we're expecting new updates on the sequel in the next few weeks as Gunn continues working on the storyboards. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Last month, it was confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be one of the new MCU films for 2023. The sequel is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
