Tom Holland's third Spider-Man film has been the talk of the entire Marvel fandom for months now and it all began when it was announced late last year that Jamie Foxx will be reprising his role as Electro, a character he portrayed in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a project that doesn't take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The bombshell news was then followed up by the confirmation that Alfred Molina's Doc Ock who appeared in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 will also be joining the film. Of course, this led a lot of fans to speculate that more characters from previous non-MCU Spidey flicks could appear in the yet-to-be-titled Homecoming 3.

One persistent rumor suggests that Dane DeHaan, who also appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Harry Osborn/Green Goblin will also be joining the MCU along with his co-star Andrew Garfield. Now, DeHaan is finally breaking his silence regarding his alleged involvement in the film.

Appearing in a press conference for his latest project ZeroZeroZero (via RadioTimes), Dane dismissed previous reports linking him to the upcoming Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures production. "There's no truth to those rumors," he said. "I don't even know how that would be pulled off."

Now, this may just be another case of fans going overboard with their assumptions but I wouldn't exactly rule out the possibility of DeHaan reprising his role as Green Goblin considering we're getting two villains from different non-MCU properties. We've yet to get confirmation from both Marvel Studios and Sony regarding the true nature of the film but at this point, it's pretty safe to assume that it'll be the franchise's take on the Spider-Verse.

The MCU's Spider-Man 3 is slated for release in December.
