Good Omens Season 2 Confirmed at Amazon, New Poster Revealed

It looks like we'll get to find out what happened after Armageddon didn't come. Amazon Prime has just renewed Good Omens for a second season so we'll get to know what happened to Crowley and Aziraphale after they prevented the end of the world.

Amazon has announced Good Omens Season 2 is now in development. David Tennant and Michael Sheen are expected to return as Crowley and Aziraphale, the demon and angel duo who pretty much screwed up in ushering in the Armageddon. A cool new poster was also released. Check it out below.

But what, pray tell, will the second season be about? After all, the first season of Good Omens already covered everything in the book. Interestingly, Neil Gaiman stated that Season 2 will be based on the ideas he and co-author Terry Pratchett discussed before the latter's death in 2015.

"It's thirty-one years since Good Omens was published, which means it's thirty-two years since Terry Pratchett and I lay in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention, and plotted the sequel," Gaiman said in a statement. "I got to use bits of the sequel in Good Omens—that's where our angels came from."

Gaiman continued although "Terry's not here any longer," they "had talked about what we wanted to do with Good Omens, and where the story went next" when the author was still alive.

The renewal was unexpected but not exactly a huge surprise. After all, new fans were calling for a second season and there is little doubt that Amazon wants to make use of the success of Season 1. With that in mind, we're looking forward to seeing Crowley and Aziraphale reunited in the future.

Good Omens Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
