God of War Art Designer Imagines What an MCU Nova Would Look Like

Ever since the Nova Corps were introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy, fans have been waiting for the MCU introduction of the one Nova everyone cares about; Samuel Alexander. Richard Rider would be alright too. Whichever the Nova, fans just really want to see the cosmic hero kick some butt and maybe steal Gamora from Star-Lord if they end up choosing Richard Rider.

Raf Grassetti, the God of War Art Director, decided to make his own design for an MCU version of Nova and it looks pretty wicked. Grassetti said the concept is based on some of the art from Ryan Meinerding, who is the Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development, and it shows. It would be great seeing a version of Nova that looks like this in the MCU since he is such a great character.

Nova was Marvel's second attempt at making a relatable young character like Spider-Man, which got a mixed response at first. While he wasn't a horrible character, no one liked him too much until the Annihilation event, where he proved to be a cool hero. His solo series from Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning afterward helped make him feel more unique, spotlighting him being an "average man" and his disconnect from Earth after being in space for so long.

Kevin Feige has expressed interest in making a Nova movie before and we could see one post-Avengers 4. Only time will tell if Richard Rider or Sam Alexander get the nod, or they could include both of them like the recent Novas series.

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
