Avengers: Infinity War Novel Reveals Two More Surviving Characters, Teases New Threat

One big question that fans immediately had after Avengers: Infinity War was who else survived "the snap?" We know that the original Avengers have survived the snap, along with Rocket and Nebula from the Guardians of the Galaxy, and some of Black Panther's supporting cast. Thanks to a tie-in novel, called Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest Vol. 2, we now know two more surviving characters; Dr. Erik Selvig and Darcy Lewis.

Yup, Jane Foster's sidekicks from the first two Thor movies are still alive, while there is no mention of Foster herself. This might add some fuel to the theory that says Selvig will play a big role in Avengers 4, which is plausible given how interested he is in Asgardian and cosmic studies.

Interestingly enough, the novel ends with a teaser on a new threat that could be deadlier than Thanos, which is saying a lot. Since many rumors are saying that the movie will be called Avengers: Annihilation, many are now assuming that Annihilus will be the next big bad to attack Earth. All of this is speculation of course but it would be cool if this were the case.

Now that we know Selvig and Darcy are still alive, it will be interesting to see if they have big roles in the next movie. We already know that Black Widow and Captain America are getting more focus next time, so one has to wonder if there are enough hours for them. Then again, if the movie is three hours, there could be enough time.

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
