Ever since her successful stint in Game of Thrones ended, fans have been waiting for Emilia Clarke to join either the Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Extended Universe and a lot of people are under the impression that it's only a matter of time before the actress joins either of the two big-time franchises. Now, considering Emilia is finally relieved of her GOT duties, there's clearly no doubt that now's the perfect time for her to branch out and jump ship to the comic book world.

After years of waiting, Emilia has apparently made her decision and we can finally confirm that the actress will be MCU bound soon. According to an exclusive scoop from Variety, the Daenerys Targaryen actress is in final negotiations to star in Marvel Studios' upcoming spin-off series Secret Invasion starring Samuel L. Jackson. Other details about Clarke's involvement in the show are still being kept under wraps so let the guessing game begin, Marvel detectives!

Considering the show will be Skrull-centric, it's safe to speculation that Emilia could be playing one of the Skrulls in the show, and who knows, there's a good chance that she might actually land the role of Skrull princess Veranke, a key villain in the Secret Invasion comic book story. It's also worth noting that the series will also tie directly into Captain Marvel 2 so we can totally expect Emilia to be given a major hero o villain role.

It's a little too early to tell for sure which character she'll get to play but the possibilities are endless and more than anything, I'm just really glad that we're finally going to see Emilia in a comic book project after years of clamor from the geek community.
