Game of Thrones Spin-offs Won’t Have Emilia Clarke

A major player for this seventh season won't extend her role in the planned spin-offs for Game of Thrones.

Mother of Dragons, Queen of Meereen, Breaker of Chains, and the Unburnt Dany Targaryen won't be returning for the spin-offs. Actress Emilia Clarke confirmed with RollingStone the extent of her participation in the series—and it doesn't look like it'll be for too long anymore.

"I normally don't spend very much time in Belfast, but this last season I spent a little more time there. It's a really interesting season in terms of some loose ends that have been tied… I mean, I have no doubt there'll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But I am doing one more season. And then that'll be it."

Clarke seems very much decided on this, as she also shared that when the time comes for her portrayal of the role to end will be the time that she will start to experience a shakeup of her identity—as an actress, no doubt, and the impact of this major role had on her.

We all know that this isn't even the end of her career. She's part of the Han Solo Star Wars prequel, albeit in an awesome role that she can't divulge much about.

But as far as what she can tease about her current role as the Khaleesi, Clarke stated that Dany has "a little something extra this year." What that is, we'll have to see when Game of Thrones gets back on HBO on July 16.
