It has already been confirmed that there are two new live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movies being released this year. But what can we expect in the upcoming films following Edward and Alphonse Elric? The first one is set to feature the arrival of Scar as he goes up against the brothers. However, the trailer also confirms that we'll get to see the Scarred Man's backstory and how he is connected to the villainous Solf J. Kimblee!
The trailer for the two-part Fullmetal Alchemist films has a lot of footage featuring Scar, who will be played by Mackenyu Arata. In one scene, he goes up against Edward Elric as Alphonse looks on. However, there is also a scene showing the Scarred Man without his namesake scar and dressed as a priest in what could be a flashback sequence.
This is an important scene in Scar's story since it reveals what happened to him before he becomes the manga's early antagonist. In the same sequence, the character is shown looking up at Solf J. Kimblee as the villain prepares to attack. Check it out in the 0:44 mark in the video below.
The fight between Scar and Kimblee is expected to be huge but also tragic since it leads to the slaughter of the former's family. With that in mind, it's a sequence to truly watch out for when the Full Alchemist movies are released later this year.
Scar and Kimblee are new characters in the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist films and will be played by Mackenyu Arata and Yuki Yamada, respectively. Mackenyu is known for playing Enishi Yukishiro in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and will portray Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's One Piece series. Yamada previously played Ken 'Draken' Ryuguji in the live-action Tokyo Revengers film.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar will premiere in Japan on May 20, 2022. Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation is scheduled for release on June 24, 2022.
