Ahead of the Fall 23 anime season, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End was among the most hyped. This is thanks to the dedicated fanbase of the original manga, along with the intriguing trailers.

The hype for the show increased when the two-hour premiere was announced. Finally, the show’s premiere happened a few days ago, and it turns out that the premiere consisted of the first four episodes.

Soon after the premiere, fans took to platforms such as X to share their opinions on the anime. So far, the reception has been incredibly positive.

One of the most praised aspects of Frieren so far is its animation. From the looks of it, Madhouse definitely stepped up its efforts for this series as it features beautifully animated sequences and painterly backgrounds.

Many were also enamored with its unique take on the fantasy genre. After all, instead of following a group of adventurers as they face the Demon King, the show is set decades after the Demon King’s defeat.

Saito is best known for directing the Bocchi the Rock! anime by CloverWorks, which was also praised for its inventiveness.

Even the music of Frieren was praised by fans, and this is thanks to composer Evan Call who is popular for composing music for shows like Violet Evergarden and My Happy Marriage.

With Frieren’s premiere being incredibly well-received, there’s no doubt that a lot of fans are excited for its next episode which will be released this weekend.
