Footage of George Lucas' Scrapped Star Wars Series Makes Its Way Online

The Mandalorian is the first Star Wars live-action series and it proved to be a huge success, showing just how diverse and interesting this franchise's universe can be. It's funny how Star Wars can switch between "kid's show with lightsabers" to "gritty western with death" but that shows how awesome this series is and why people still hold George Lucas in high regard, even with the prequels under his belt.

With shows based on Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rogue One coming, it looks like the Force is strong with these live-action Star Wars shows.

Before The Mandalorian came out, Lucas was working on his own live-action Star Wars series called Star Wars: Underworld. For a while, it seemed like we would never see anything from this dead show but some test footage has made its way to the internet. This should be a treat for many Star Wars fans, though it's not going to give The Mandalorian a run for its money anytime soon.

While it looks like this would have been an interesting look at a different corner of the Star Wars universe, we're not exactly mourning over the fact that it never came to be. Yes, Star Wars: Underworld probably would have been unique for its time but given Lucas' reputation, it's hard to say if this would have been good.

Admittedly, there are now fans who are claiming that the Star Wars prequels are good, or at least, better than the Star Wars sequels. Yeah, we sure live in a weird timeline huh?

The Mandalorian can be streamed on Disney+ right now.
