Star Wars: Possible Story Details for Disney+'s Obi-Wan Series

A lot of people were excited about Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi show, but as of late, the production has been caught in a bit of a snag. With the series said to be undergoing a major rewrite, a rumor has come out detailing what the original plans were for the show.

This was posted up on Reddit from someone who knows ‘a source close to the writing process.":

So the gist of it is, there's another lost Jedi on Tatooine hiding out as a Tusken Raider who discovers Luke and plans to kill him so that Vader or Palpatine won't find their way to the planet. Obi-Wan eventually clashes with this fallen Jedi and will make the use of Anakin's lightsaber to defeat him.

We don't know how legit this leak is, but it wouldn't matter too much anyway after the news that Lucasfilm is planning to rewrite the story. I don't know what kind of similarities they found with The Mandalorian, but maybe it will have something to do with Obi-Wan being alone and trying to uphold his own code of honor that no one else understands.

Personally, I would have preferred that this would be a film, but even director Deborah Chow said that she prefers the series format because it would allow for more character development. Hopefully, they come up with the right treatment of the story, seeing that Obi-Wan is considered the ‘Jesus' of the Star Wars franchise.

No release date has been set for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but hopefully, we get something in 2021.
