Final Fantasy XV Death Spell Showcased in New Gameplay Trailer

Square Enix has released a new gameplay clip for Final Fantasy XV. This time, it's focused on exclusively revealing the Death Spell.

"As revealed exclusively during the Final Fantasy XV presentation at TwitchCon 2016, witness Death magic—one of the powerful spells granted by the Ring of Lucii. Death drains the HP of enemies. The longer you use the spell, the more your enemy will physically deteriorate. In this video, Death is used to tackle a variety of enemies, including another exclusive reveal—the fearsome Bandersnatch!"

Already the new trailer has launched a lot of discussions among fans. Given the consequences of using it can be very powerful, some have assumed that the Death Spell is some sort of end all weapon. However, one fan had noted that it has two main weakness, which can be seen in some of the scenes in the gameplay trailer.

For one, Noctis' MP is drained considerably the longer he uses it. And sometimes, it's not even successfully eliminated, no matter how big the drain is on the MP. The second weakness of the Death Spell is that the magic caster can be disrupted while in the middle of using it, rendering it unsuccessful as an attack in some cases.

As far as looks go, the Death Spell does deliver on the creepy factor. Imagine the life being sucked out of you by the spell, with the pink light emphasizing the process of deterioration for the enemy. It's pretty badass.

Final Fantasy XV is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
