James Gunn Says Peacemaker Series is Basically The Suicide Squad 2

Over the last couple of months alone, John Cena has proven that his stint in Hollywood is no fluke. In fact, the wrestler-turned-actor pretty much solidified himself as a certified box office attraction, starring in films such as Fast 9 and The Suicide Squad where he earned massive praise for his role as Peacemaker. Cena's future is looking brighter than ever but the real question is, where does he go next? In a new Q&A with Esquire, the 16-time WWE champion seemingly teased his potential involvement in the MCU but not as Sandman as he previously hyped up. Instead, it looks like Cena is actually interested in taking on the role of Ben Grimm aka Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. He said: "I would consider most any-thing. I think keeping yourself open to options and different perspectives is a good way to go about life. This would simply be a thing that I would consider because I like to keep my perspective open to new things." And given the fact that he's already starred in several media franchises in just a short span of time, Cena could definitely add the MCU to his list of targets in the future. As for his chances of actually playing Ben Grimm in the Fantastic Four reboot, to his credit, John is already physically believable to portray The Thing. His comedic timing is also on point which I believe should give him the edge over other actors who are also eyeing the part. At the end of the day though, it's still up to Marvel Studios. Meanwhile, The Suicide Squad is still available for streaming on HBO Max.
