Fans React To Young Han Solo Casting – They Are Not Happy

The Han Solo standalone Star Wars film is well on its way.

During Star Wars Day, Han Solo spinoff director Chris Miller teased the first ever photo from the set of the film. Earlier today, it has been confirmed that Hail, Caesar actor Alden Ehrenreich has landed the highly-coveted role once and for all.

This may be good news for production, since this means shooting is pretty much good to go, but then the same cannot be said for fans.

In light of the recent news of the casting of Alden Ehrenreich, there have been an uproar from Star Wars fans who did not like Disney's choice, to say the least.

Check out fans' reactions, who below are still trying to cope with the fact that the fan-favorite space smuggler has been killed off in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Below are reaction from fans who seemed to have given up all hope that the situation can be remedied.

Others struggle to fight, and dare to hope. They are questioning Disney and the company's casting choice, even the decision to make a Han Solo spinoff.

While all of these reactions make it seem like nobody is in agreement with Disney, there are a few who actually liked the combo of Chris Miller and Alden Ehrenreich, like this guy below:

Disney has yet to comment on the recent reaction from fans.

It seems like if Disney really listened to fans, there would be no movie at all. I can only think of this reaction from Han:

Also, Harrison Ford himself had this advice for the potential young Han Solo back in March: "Don't do it."

As much as it pains me to think that another actor other than Ford will play the new Han Solo, I'd like to give Disney a chance. We never know. Ehrenreich might make the best young Han Solo on the big screen. Now, if we watch the film and he really doesn't cut it, I think it's safer to complain then since we already have proof that he's not the right guy for the role.

There could still be a chance we might see Ford as Han Solo in Episode VIII though, that is if he wasn't kidding about his statements on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in March.

The Han Solo movie is slated for release on May 25, 2018.
