Han Solo Spinoff Director Chris Miller Teases Fans With Film’s “Shooting” During Star Wars Day

The director of the highly-anticipated Han Solo spinoff, Chris Miller, is celebrating Star Wars Day by teasing fans with a prop photo from the movie – Han's famous blaster.

He wittingly captioned his photo with: "Can't wait to get ‘shooting'! and "May the 4th be with you" hashtag.

The prop photo serves as a first look into the space smuggler's solo film.

Last year, Miller and collaborator Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street) announced the standalone Star Wars film, claiming that it will focus on the events taking place during Han Solo's youth:

We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us.

Right now, not much is known about the upcoming film, other than it will take place during Solo's youth and that Alden Ehrenreich is now the front-runner for the highly-coveted role.

Because Miller and Lord's previous projects leaned heavily towards comedy, it's highly likely that there will be a handful of humorous elements in the Han Solo spinoff. Besides, Han has never been a very serious guy.

With Star Wars day in our midst, other stars of the franchise are also celebrating the special occasion in their own special ways. The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley shared these adorable photos earlier as well.

The Han Solo spinoff film is slated for release on May 25, 2018.
