It's no secret to a lot of people that Star Wars actor John Boyega didn't have the nicest experience working with Lucasfilm and he's come out in the past to reveal his disappointment over his character Finn being treated poorly in the franchise. He even went as far as calling out Disney, citing issues of racism within the company.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy would later reach out to Boyega to address the issue privately and by the looks of it, both parties were able to come to a resolution and Boyega would never speak ill of his former employer ever again. But despite the fact that all seems to be good now between both parties, fans are having a hard time forgiving them for what they did to the actor.

Star Wars' social media accounts celebrated Boyega's 29th birthday this week with a heartfelt post for the actor whom they refer to as a hero to all of us.

The actor's fans would then storm the said post on the official Star Wars Twitter account and instead of being pleased with this move, things got pretty ugly in a hurry as people attacked Lucasfilm yet again and reminded everyone of their past issues with racism and how the Finn character was watered down. Check out some of the reactions here:

Boyega, who has been on a Twitter hiatus since November has yet to respond to the said greeting but considering the fact that he's no longer calling out anyone from the company, I guess it's a clean slate for everyone involved in the issue. That being said, I hope this opens the door once again for Boyega to make his return to the Star Wars franchise because let's be honest, the Finn character needs to be vindicated.

The entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
