Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Does US Agent's Return Confirm Thunderbolts' Arrival?

It's no secret that John Walker was one of the most despised characters who appeared in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Still, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series concluded with a major tease about US Agent's future as he is recruited by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. But what could Walker's return possibly mean for the MCU? There is a huge chance that it will finally be revealed that Val is building a new team that will eventually be announced as the Thunderbolts.

Wyatt Russell recently spoke about his return as US Agent in the MCU. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Russell gushed about his role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

"I really enjoy playing the character and my experience working with Marvel was an unbelievable working experience and collaborative, working with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan and Kari Skogland," he said.

"The teams they have there are unbelievable, it's why they make great things. So, anytime I get the opportunity or hear about the chance to reprise a character or work for Marvel again, it's very exciting because the people are wonderful," Russell continued. "So, hopefully, I'll get to do it again. We'll see."

For now, it is unclear if there will be a second season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Still, there are other MCU projects where US Agent could return. Moreover, there are speculations that Walker will show up along with Val as she continues to recruit members for the team she is building. If things work out for Walker, he could eventually become a member of the Thunderbolts.

In the comic books, the Thunderbolts is an antihero team comprised of mostly reformed supervillains. Although the team has not yet shown up in the MCU, future members of the Thunderbolts have already been introduced.

We are loving the idea of the Thunderbolts showing up in the MCU. However, it is important to remember that this has not yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios and should be taken with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
