Fairy Tail Anime Additional Episodes Not Yet Confirmed

Hiro Mashima's long-running manga has been a bevy of good and sad news. For one, the anime film Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry has been released in Japan to a good reception. Sadly, the manga is now hinted to end in just a few chapters.

It seems like the only hope that fans could get another wave of good news is to see the remainder of the manga as well as the reported spin-offs in anime version. The anime film director Tatsuma Minamikawa weighed in on what may be waiting for the manga's anime seasons, in a recent interview with Anime Now;

"At the moment, I personally have not heard anything. Maybe the higher-ups are talking about the possibility. At any rate, there isn't not a possibility that something might be coming."

Fairy Tail has enjoyed a following not only in Japan but also internationally. Even the anime film is something that the author has given a great deal of time on. Minamikawa revealed that Mashima gave him an entire rough draft for the film in manga form—the copies of which found their way into the hands of moviegoer fans during the Japan showing—so you know that the film is a completely new experience.

The film even feature two more original characters, namely Sonya and Animus, both of whom are actually on the same side but are actually polar opposites in terms of their personalities. It appears that they are both part of the twist that Minamikawa is urging fans to check out when they see the film.

Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry anime film will be out internationally this month.
