EXO Chen is now a father of two as his non-celebrity wife recently gave birth to their second child.
EXO's fandom, EXO-L, was left shocked when a report about Chen's marriage on Jan. 13, 2020, emerged. At that time, Sporbiz revealed that the K-pop idol exchanged vows on the same day they shared the report online.
The same news outlet added at that time that his then-fiancee was seven months pregnant.
Chen's label, SM Entertainment, quickly debunked the claims and said that the idol was yet to get married. However, it also confirmed that his then-bride-to-be was expecting their first child.
Nearly two years since his daughter was born, Chen welcomed his second son – but he is away this time.

EXO Chen Adds Another Angel to Family
On Wednesday, Xportsnews confirmed that the EXO member's wife gave birth to their second child. SM Entertainment also confirmed the news in a statement (via Naver).
"It's true that Chen's wife recently gave birth to their second child," a representative of the label said.
The baby's arrival came two months after they announced that the couple were expecting. Still, the gender of the baby has not yet been revealed.
Chen is yet to see his child, though, as he is currently serving in the military as a public service worker following his enlistment in October. He is expected to be discharged in 2022.

When the K-pop star first confirmed the news, he penned a heartfelt letter to fans, saying that he would still work hard in giving back to them despite having his own family now.
"I'm really thankful to my members for genuinely congratulating me after hearing this news, and I deeply thank our fans for sending me so much undeserving love. I will never forget this feeling of gratitude, do my best in my place without changing, and return the love you have given me," he wrote.
EXO Chen Did Not Receive Approval From All Fans
While some EXO-Ls continue to support him despite being a married man, some fans could not accept that they called him to leave the K-pop group.
In 2020, Chen graced Do You Like Brahms? by making the official soundtrack for the series. But instead of receiving full support from fans, some demanded him to leave EXO since he is already married, and his wife gave birth.
His song received a 1.5 out of 5 rating on Melon. The score was, unfortunately, lower than the series' other soundtracks. On top of that, most of the 4,500 comments were mostly negative opinions about him.
With the recent news about his second child, EXO-Ls could not help but ask fans to be more respectful and be happy with Chen and his family.
