Eric Mccormack Joins Netflix’s Thrilling Sci-Fi Series ‘Travelers’

There's a new promising time-travel drama about to join Netflix.

According to Deadline, the upcoming series is called Travelers and joining its cast is Eric McCormack, an FBI agent from the future named Grant MacLaren on a mission to prevent disaster. He must however go back to the past to alter the future and prevent disaster from taking place.

Travelers follows a group of people who exist hundreds of years into the future. Technology from their time would allow them to go back to the 21st century to warn people about humanity's dreadful tomorrow. Apparently, the travelers are the only remaining humans of their time.

McCormack's MacLaren is the leader of the team of mismatched travelers from the future, which includes intellectually disabled Marcy (MacKenzie Porter), her caretaker David Patrick Gilmore), young heroin addict Philip (Reilly Dolman), high school quarterback Trevor (Jared Abrahamson), and struggling single mom Carly (Nesta Cooper).

Travelersis penned by sci-fi writer and producer Brad Wright, the brains behind Stargate SG-1 and various Stargatereboots. Nick Hurran (Sherlock) is set to direct the pilot episode together, while Canadians Andy Mikita (Lost Girl), Helen Shaver (Vikings), Martin Wood (Killjoys), Will Waring (Continuum), and Amanda Tapping (Continuum) set to direct subsequent episodes.

The concept for Travelers certainly looks interesting. It's now up to its creative team to handle its execution well. So far, most of Netflix's original series have received positive feedback and a wide following of fans. Hopefully, Travelers will be a hit too.
