The first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been released on Thursday morning on Good Morning America, giving us a first look at Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and the band of Resistance fighters on a dangerous mission to steal plans for the Empire's Death Star. The standalone film is set before the events of A New Hope. There's a lot of cool action-packed footage in this trailer that I can't wait to see unfold. Watch the trailer here:

Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Diego Luna. It will hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2016.
