Zoë Kravitz is already earning praise for her performance as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in Matt Reeves' The Batman which is quite astonishing considering we've only seen small bits of her portrayal in the first two trailers for the upcoming DC film top-billed by Robert Pattinson.

For the longest time, however, DC fans have considered Michelle Pfeiffer as the definitive live-action version of Selina Kyle and to a lot of them, no one has come close to the actress' portrayal of the character. Apparently, one of Pfeiffer's Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars also feels the same way about her iconic performance.

Wandavision's Elizabeth Olsen Believes Michelle Pfeiffer is the Only Catwoman

It's no secret to a lot of her fans that Elizabeth Olsen is a huge fan of Michelle Pfeiffer's work and that obviously includes her brilliant and unorthodox performance as Selina Kyle in 1992's Batman Returns. In fact, in a 2011 interview with Elle, the WandaVision actress expressed her admiration for her fellow MCU co-actor, saying that no matter how many times Hollywood redos the iconic DC character, Pfeiffer is the only Catwoman in her book.

Fans Slam Elizabeth Olsen for Old Catwoman Comments

Although the interview came out a decade ago and long before the idea for The Batman was even conceived, fans weren't thrilled with Elizabeth's comments and some even brought up her past allegations of racism. Retweeting the said interview, it's pretty safe to say that Olsen offended a lot of fans with her not-so-controversial statement. Check out some of the reactions below:

I find it weird that people are actually pressed about an interview that came out 10 years ago. In my opinion, Elizabeth's comments were completely taken out of context. If anything, she was just airing her opinion, and not one part in the interview saw her disrespect other actresses who have had the privilege of playing Catwoman in live-action. Bringing up the new Catwoman actress in the argument is pointless.

As for Kravitz, the sky is the limit for the 32-year-old actress, and judging by the stuff we've seen from the trailers so far, it looks like she'll take the Catwoman role to even greater heights, and quite frankly, I'm totally excited about it.

Meanwhile, Olsen is set to return as Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, hitting cinemas in May 2022.
