Deadpool 2 production may have been announced shortly following the success of its predecessor, but there remains little known information about the film's details. We do know that Ajax will be there, with the character having a crucial role in the movie. It's also highly likely that T.J. Miller's Weasel will be in Deadpool 2, since Miller has mentioned in an interview how there's "probably three more [Deadpool] installments" and that he's "contractually obliged"to do cameos.
That said, we still don't know of any other characters who could appear in the movie. Well, Ed Skrein, who played the villain Ajax in Deadpool, has a pretty good idea who he thinks would be the perfect villain for Deadpool 2.
In an interview with IGN, the 33-year-old English rapper and actor said the perfect face-off would be between Deadpool and the Taskmaster. He said:
The Taskmaster is just you know, so fun" he explained. "To see Taskmaster and Wade Wilson/Deadpool together is so funny – watching them play in the Daniel Way collection they have these incredible riffs. He's a mercenary like Wade Wilson but he's a mercenary without morals. The only redeeming factor of Deadpool is his morals, right? Taskmaster does not have those morals so he back-stabs and stuff like that.
He's a hilarious character, and he looks so cool, you know? The skull head, the hood, and his superpower is he can copy anyone's fighting style; can you imagine that visually? If he fought Deadpool and started whipping things around and doing all the flips, and then he fought Wolverine? It would be phenomenal - he's an incredible character.
As Skrein explained, Taskmaster has the unique ability to copy anyone's physical movements, except for superpowers, resulting in the character being a master in any type of combat. However, despite facing off with Deadpool numerous times, Wade Wilson's crazy behavior and personality makes it hard for the Taskmaster to follow his moves and predict Wade's next attack.
I must admit it would be pretty exciting to see action scenes involving Deadpool and Taskmaster. Even throw Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in there and audiences will most probably have a blast watching that scene. However, considering Taskmaster's history with Deadpool, he might not make a formidable villain for the Merc with a Mouth. He'll likely be another one of Marvel's disposable villains.
As for Ed Skrein and fans who envision that scene between Deadpool and Taskmaster already, unfortunately, it could be a while, if there's even a chance, that that scene would be fully realized. Marvel currently has the rights to Taskmaster, and it remains to be seen whether they'll be using the character for the small screen or the big screen.
I guess those scenes will have to remain in the comics.
