Before Nintendo’s reveal of Pokemon Sun and Moon’s gameplay footage, the company kicked things off their E3 2016 Nitnendo Treehouse presentation today with the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The trailer provides an in-depth first look at the boundary-breaking game as Link explores a world of discovery and adventure in the game’s version of Hyrule.
The stunning trailer begins with dramatic background music, then a woman’s voice telling Link to "open his eyes." He then proceeds to exploring Hyrule by using a parachute to float through the air, climbing cliffs, chopping trees, swimming, building a wall.
Aside from these adventures, the trailer also offers at some of Link's weapons, which include his classic bow and arrow, a sword, and new weaponry like explosive arrows, a spear, and an axe.
By the end of the trailer, there’s a quick shot and fade out of the Master Sword before the game’s title is revealed.

This is the world’s first in-depth look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
According to Series Producer Eiji Aonuma, this new installment of the franchise is a break from the traditions formed during previous games. Breath of the Wild therefore removes players’ restrictions on following a certain route. The new installment will introduce something new to players that they’ve never experienced in previous games in the franchise.
It certainly sounds exciting, and I’m sure fans can’t wait to get their hands on this game.
The Legend of Zelda launches in 2017 for Wii U. It’s also set to debut as a title for Nintendo’s next console, currently codenamed Nintendo NX.
