E3 2016: EA’s New Star Wars Games Set To Arrive Starting 2017

Electronic Arts' (EA) has a ton of new Star Wars games arriving soon.

As part of EA's press conference held at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year, the video game company revealed a brief tease of some of the games they have lined up beginning in 2018.

It's worth noting that EA has exclusive rights to all Star Wars games for the next 10 years, and aside from the new games, they're also offering fresh content for Battlefront, Galaxy of Heroes and The Old Republic.

That's a whole lot of choices.

Anyway, here's the new slate of games arriving soon:

> Up for release in 2017 is a new version of Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE and Motive. It's actually a sequel to the title, and DICE said it's an improved version of Battlefront, so keep your fingers crossed that they stay true to their word.
> Then, there's DICE's virtual reality mission game for PlayStation 4's PlayStation VR headset, featuring some X-Wing piloting

> Then, there's a new game from Visceral Games coming in 2018. It features an action-adventure "original narrative set in the Star Wars universe with all-new characters," which seems really thrilling since the company is known for the Dead Space series. The game is also headed by the head writer and creative director of the Uncharted series' first three games, Amy Hennig.

It appears the game doesn't come with your usual lightsaber-wielder lead chaarcter.

> Then you have a game from Respawn Entertainment with a "different style of gameplay that takes place in a different timeline we have yet to explore with our EA Star Wars titles."

Meanwhile, the new content for existing Star Wars games include:

> 3 new Star Wars: Battlefront expansion packs
> New content for mobile game, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
> Another new set of expansions for online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic
