Last year had been a busy one for the studio following the formation of Warner Bros. Discovery and their restructure and reshape of the the company. A new report reveals that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson directly pitched his idea for Black Adam vs. Superman to the CEO, David Zaslav, shortly after the merger.

In October last year, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson suited up as the anti-hero, Black Adam, in his own titular film and to the shock of many, Henry Cavill had a cameo appearance as Superman in the post-credits scene of the movie, sparking hopes of his return as the Man of Steel.

However, all these hopes went to the rubble when it was confirmed by DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, and Henry Cavill, himself, that the plan for the new DC Universe does not include the actor's appearance as the Man of Steel, throwing out the window the idea of having a Black Adam vs. Superman movie.

It turns out that the showdown has been long pitched by Dwayne Johnson, as per the report of Variety, where their sources said that the actor directly pitched a multiyear plan for Black Adam vs. Superman and that producers Hiram Garcia and Beau Flynn were on board the idea.

In the same report, a source said that Johnson went around everyone with his idea and that did not turn out well. Johnson's relationship with Warner Bros. was, reportedly, rocky when Johnson wanted a producing credit for DC League of Super Pets but didn't promote it that much.

Johnson also wanted to have a tequila bar with his Teremana brand during the New York premiere of Black Adam even when the film was rated PG-13, which means minors would be attending the event. Johnson's demands grew more and more but his box office return for Black Adam didn't quite make the cut.

Black Adam managed to bring in a $391 million box office worldwide and while those numbers were big, it still didn't make the cut given that the budget of the movie is around $235 million with $195 million on its production and $40 million in reshoots.

Black Adam is now streaming online on HBO Max.
