A new first-look clip on Supergirl has been released, revealing our glimpse at the first interaction between the titular heroine and Superman.
The highly anticipated DCU film is finally releasing in theaters later this month. Not only is it the second movie in the franchise, but it will also officially launch Milly Alcock as the Woman of Tomorrow after her cameo in Superman last year. Fans are excited to see what they have in store for the titular heroine's first solo adventure.
Supergirl First Look Clip Reveals Superman and Kara Zor-El's First Meeting
Thanks to ComicBook.com, we have our first-look clip at a major scene in Supergirl, which is the first meeting between Kara Zor-El and Superman.
We have known for months that David Corenswet will be reprising the role of Superman in the upcoming film through a cameo appearance, but now, we finally have an early glimpse of how their first interaction goes.
The clip shows Kara’s arrival on Earth alongside Krypto. Landing in a spherical ship right outside the Fortress of Solitude, she is greeted by her Kryptonian cousin. However, they face an immediate language barrier since Kara only speaks Kryptonian, and a protective Krypto predictably takes an instant dislike to the Man of Steel.
Despite the communication issues and a wary super-dog, Superman shares a touching moment with his newly arrived cousin. He comforts her by promising that there is so much more to Earth than the frozen wasteland, assuring her that she will eventually learn to love her new home just as much as he has.
This showed us our insight into Superman and Supergirl's estranged relationship, as we've seen in last year's Superman. Due to their differences, they never have a close familial bond, and this explains the reason why the two are not teaming up together during a fight.
Nevertheless, this is an exciting first look at Superman's return in the DCU after his debut last year, and should hype up the anticipation for Supergirl's release in a few weeks.
