Dwayne Johnson Confirms Black Adam and Shazam Crossover Will Happen

As DC fans are hyped for the release of Black Adam as well as how it will lead to the titular antihero fighting Superman in the future, some of them are also wondering about whether he will also end up fighting Shazam at some point just like in the comics, especially that both of them were supposed to appear together in one film back when they were in development.

In a recent interview shared by Twitter user @AjepArts (via The Direct), Dwayne Johnson explained the reason why they decided to have the two characters separate in their own films before they appear together in a future film.

"It was just a mosh of 'just put them both together because they're both connected.' So that's when I said 'you can't do it like this, we have to respect Shazam and his origin story, that has to be its own movie. Respect Black Adam, this has to be its own movie. Build them up, and then you can do this,'" he said.

When asked if we'll get to see a crossover between Black Adam and Shazam in the future, Johnson responded, "The crossover, they're gonna happen."

There you have it, we have a confirmation that Black Adam and Shazam are going to crossover at some point in the future. While Johnson didn't mention any specific details, we can assume that it will be on a separate film project at some point after Shazam! Fury of the Gods releases next year.

It also comes as Johnson also recently revealed that plans are now in motion for his long-gestated plan to have Black Adam and Superman face off in the future which also doesn't have the specific details as of the moment. Either way, at least we have an assurance that we can expect a face-off between the two characters and it is curious to see how it will exactly happen.
