- Quick Answer: Warner Bros. revealed first-look posters for Dune: Part Three, confirming a darker finale with a 12-year time jump as Paul rules Arrakis ahead of its December 2026 release.
Warner Bros. has dropped a first look at what is already being dubbed “The Epic Conclusion” of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three.
Led by Timothée Chalamet, the warrior prince and chosen one Paul Atreides returns to the dangerous desert planet of Arrakis for the final chapter of the saga.
So, for more spice and sandworms, here’s everything you need to know about Dune: Part Three.
What is Dune: Part Three About?

Based on Frank Herbert’s Dune series, the saga originally spans six novels. However, Denis Villeneuve previously revealed that he intends to make only three films, with Dune: Part Three adapting the second novel, Dune Messiah.
But compared to the first two movies, the third installment will tell a very different story. In an interview with Vanity Fair before the release of Dune: Part Two, Villeneuve revealed that the final film wouldn’t feel “like a trilogy.”
“It’s strange to say that, but if I go back there, it’s to do something that feels different and has its own identity,” he said.
Dune: Part Three will feature a 12-year time jump, with Paul struggling to manage the galactic jihad, a violent holy war waged in his name to cement his rule as emperor.
But despite becoming emperor and marrying Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), Paul still has strong feelings for Chani (Zendaya). He hopes to have children with the woman he truly loves, but Irulan will do everything she can to prevent it from happening.
By the looks of it, Dune: Part Three could be even darker and more intense than its predecessors.
Who’s in the Cast of Dune: Part Three?

Of course, Timothée Chalamet returns to reprise his role as Paul Atreides, the Padishah Emperor and the head of House Atreides, alongside Zendaya as Chani, Paul’s love interest and a rebellious Fremen warrior.
Robert Pattinson also joined the franchise as the new villain and a Tleilaxu face dancer named Scytale. For other cast members, you can check the list below:
- Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan
- Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides
- Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica
- Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho
- Javier Bardem as Stilgar
- Isaach De Bankolé as Farok
- Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck
Is there a Trailer for Dune: Part Three?
So far, Warner Bros. Pictures has yet to release a trailer for Dune: Part Three. However, the studio has unveiled a set of character posters, giving fans a glimpse of how the characters look after the story’s 12-year time jump.
In the poster, Paul appears more mature and hardened, his expression stern and burdened as he takes on the role of emperor.
With their dark, almost prophetic visual style, the images hint at a much darker tone for the trilogy’s final installment.
When Will Dune: Part Three Be Released?
Dune: Part Three is slated to be released in the US on December 18, 2026, going head-to-head with Avengers: Doomsday.
