Dragon Ball Super: Beast Gohan Featured in New V Jump Cover But Don't Expect The Next Chapter to Come Out Soon

V Jump has revealed its cover for the Japanese magazine's January 2023 issue, and it features Beast Gohan, the final form of Gohan that debuted in the latest Dragon Ball Super movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. While the new transformation is loved by fans from all over the world, the new cover art is not exactly what they were hoping for. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait longer for the next manga chapter of Dragon Ball Super.

After all, the manga series by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou is currently on hiatus after the conclusion of the Granolah the Survivor Arc in Chapter 87, which featured Frieza's surprising return and the debut of his most powerful transformation yet, Black Frieza. The publisher of the manga noted in the end of Chapter 87 that the manga series will be taking a short hiatus before the next arc kicks off, but there's still no word on the next chapter's release date.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 88 is expected to begin the next arc, which will likely involve Black Frieza, but as Twitter user @DBSChronicles pointed out, there will not be a new Dragon Ball Super chapter this month.

Shueisha and the official Dragon Ball website haven't shared any details about the next Dragon Ball Super arc yet, but don't expect the hiatus to last long. Many fans are speculating that they will share an update for the manga series and the future of the shonen franchise at this year's Jump Festa, but the schedule for the anime convention didn't mention Dragon Ball at all.
