Dragon Ball Fans Online Come Together To Celebrate Goku Day


May has arrived, and that means it's a big month for Dragon Ball fans to celebrate their Saiyan-themed holidays. Yesterday, May 8, was Gohan Day, and fans took the time to show Gohan some love online, and now, May 9, it's his father's turn. Happy Goku Day!

In the anime community, today is known as Goku Day, and if you're curious how it started, you'll have to look at the Japanese language. There are two ways to read numbers in the system, so they can be mixed up to make certain codes. The number five in Japan is pronounced as "Go" while the number nine is pronounced "ku".

Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon.
