It has been well over a year now since the next season’s announcement, but now, it seems that the Dr. Stone Season 3 release date has been revealed.
According to several anime leakers on Twitter, Dr. Stone Season 3 will premiere in Spring 2023 and is officially entitled Dr. Stone: New World.
This means the next Dr. Stone season will begin in April 2023 – two years after the end of season 2.
You might want to take these reports with a grain of salt as no official season 3 release date has been announced so far. Though some of these accounts have been quite accurate with their leaks.
Dr. Stone is an anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Riichiro Inagaki. The manga series was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2017 to March 2020.
Meanwhile, the anime series is directed by Shinya Iino and animated by TMS Entertainment with 8PAN. The series’ first season consisted of 24 episodes and aired from July to December 2019.
Dr. Stone Season 2 then aired from January to March 2021. Unlike the first season, the second only featured 11 episodes.
Dr. Stone Season 3 Release Date - Official Information
Shortly after the last episode of season 2, Dr. Stone Season 3 was announced with an accompanying preview video. More information on the third season was then released at Jump Festa 2022.
There, it was revealed that season 3 will release sometime in 2023. But at the event, no specific release window was revealed.
Currently, there’s also no word on an episode count for the season. Though given that the first season was 24 episodes long, fans are hoping that the next season will be of the same length instead of the shorter second season.
While fans eagerly wait for the third season, there is an upcoming anime special entitled Dr. Stone: Ryusui. This special will release on July 10, 2022.
