Donald Glover's Deadpool Series Canceled Due To Taylor Swift Episode?

Fans were saddened when FX announced that they canceled the Deadpool animated series that Donald Glover was working on. This is something the Childish Gambino star didn't take well, as he supposedly leaked a meta script that questioned why the series was canceled. Glover even stated that he wasn't too busy to work on the series, despite balancing a film and music career.

His brother, Stephen Glover, went to Twitter and also aired some grievances about the series' cancellation. Stephen was also involved in the series and it's clear that he and his brother feel the same way about its abrupt end. Though his Tweets have been deleted, they did reveal one interesting reason why the series was canceled: a Taylor Swift episode.

Unfortunately, Glover doesn't go into detail as to why the Taylor Swift episode caused the series' cancellation but he did state that it was the last straw. Deadpool has always been heavy on pop culture references, as any fan of the comic or films can attest to, so having an episode about one of music's biggest stars wasn't a huge surprise.

Stephen also said that the series' script "wasn't too black" and they were trying to give Rick and Morty a run for their money. Those are big words but considering how involved the Glovers were in the series, it might have worked. At the least, it would have been a fun, adult animated series.

While there isn't a Deadpool animated series coming anytime soon, fans can take solace in the fact that Deadpool 2 comes to theaters on May 18.
