Not every show needs to have a second season. Case in point, the newly-released show from Netflix, Beef, is beautifully written that it doesn't really need one; at least not with Danny and Amy's story arc. The same could be held true for another new dramedy on Netflix called Unstable.
What Is Unstable Show About?
Unstable follows the touching story of a father and son after experiencing a loss in the family. After his wife's passing, Ellis (played by Rob Lowe) struggles keeping things together at his state-of-the-art bio research facility.
To help him cope with the loss, Ellis' son, Jackson (played by John Owen Lowe), starts working for him.
Even though the show is listed as a comedy, there are some elements that add to it being a sci-fi show. But despite this, the show tackles the deep issues regarding loss, psychological well-being, and a father-and-son bond.
Who Stars in Unstable?
One of the things that add to Unstable's flair is the fact that it is starred by Rob Lowe and his son, John Owen Lowe.

- Sian Clifford (as Anna Bennett)
- Aaron Branch (as Malcolm)

Has Unstable Been Renewed for a Second Season?
Since the show was released last March 30, 2023, it's still too early for it to be renewed by Netflix. The good news, however, is that the show made its way to the top ten lists of 45 countries.
Unfortunately, this isn't a defining factor on whether a show will get renewed for another season or not. Not to mention, we don't really believe Unstable needs a second season.
For one thing, Jackson was able to help his dad from getting thrown out of his own company. The relationship of the two has also improved because of the experience.
But it's too hard to see beyond the events of the final episode. Sure, there's that kiss between Luna and Jackson, as well as Leslie's future.
There's also Ellis' venting out by torching someone's car. But we're unsure what could happen next if Netflix orders a second season.
We'll have to wait for an announcement before making any guesses. In the meantime, check out this trailer of the show:
