Who Is Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Nanami is introduced as a supporting character in the series. He was once a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, where he studied with Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto.
After graduating, Nanami initially departed the school to pursue a career in the corporate world as a salaryman.
He eventually made a comeback four years later to resume his role as a jujutsu sorcerer.
During his tenure as a jujutsu sorcerer, Nanami held the prestigious rank of Grade 1 and primarily operated from the Tokyo campus. He also took on the responsibility of mentoring Yuji Itadori.
Nanami is someone who embodies wisdom and is often seen as a man of few words.
He projects an outward calm and indifference that can make him seem stoic and distant.
The Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer gives off the impression of someone deeply dedicated to his duties, yet he adeptly keeps sentimentality separate from his professional work.
According to Gojo and Itadori, Nanami is a gloomy person, and initially, Itadori has doubts about the compatibility of their relationship.
But as the story progresses, Itadori gets closer to Nanami as he fondly addresses him as Nanamin.
Does Kento Nanami Die in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Unfortunately, the fan-favorite Nanami dies in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 120.
At this point, it's likely clear to fans that Gege Akutami might choose to eliminate or temporarily remove a character who has gained significant fan affection.
Nanami's unfortunate demise happens in the Shibuya Incident arc. He and several other jujutsu sorcerers are up against Dagon in a battle.
