Doctor Who’s Twelfth Has Shot His Final Bow as Rumored New Doctor Gets Cast

Doctor Who has been one of the most followed shows, with the Time Lord expected to have his next resurrection sometime soon. But a new report from Mirror not only puts the resurrection at an early timeframe, but there's a specific name pegged for the thirteenth iteration of the Time Lord.

The next Time Lord is supposedly not a woman as some fans wanted but rather Kris Marshall, who is known for his roles in My Family and Love Actually. It seems that this incarnation will supposedly happen before the Christmas special. As per Mirror's insider:

"Kris Marshall has already joined the cast and will regenerate at the end of this series, not in the Christmas special."

What's more, the source stated that a woman Doctor wasn't in the works because of the risk. Funnily enough, Marshall may not be the best choice either.

While the official announcement for the casting has yet to be made, it is possible that this bit of rumor is grounded on quite a bit of truth. Just recently, the Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi has confirmed that he has already filmed his death scene.

This marks the last season for both Capaldi and Steven Moffat, who has been the showrunner since taking over in 2009. Doctor Who will continue with Chris Chibnall as the showrunner, and it will include the process of selecting the Thirteenth Doctor.

Now, the biggest question apart from who will really be the next Doctor is if fans will come to love him as they did the previous ones. Based on a couple of reactions, fans are not very welcoming of the rumored casting.

Are you for or against the idea of Marshall following in Capaldi's footsteps as the next Time Lord?
