Doctor Who Showrunner Teases More Classic Villains For Season 12

Jodie Whitaker's new Doctor Who series might be greeting the New Year with a Special Episode bringing back the Doctor's worst enemy, the Daleks, but it looks like the series will be bringing even more classic monsters from the iconic science fiction series in the next batch of episodes set for 2019.

Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall just recently appeared during the premiere screening of the series' New Year special "Resolution," and there he decided to tease the adventures everyone's favorite Time Lord would take everyone next. Responding to a fan who desperately wanted to see more classic baddies aside from the Daleks like the Weeping Angels, Zygons and the Cybermen popping up in season 12 of Doctor Who (via Radio Times), the showrunner gave a thoughtful maybe.

"Well, maybe we'll do some (classic monsters) then. I'll have a think," Chibnall responded.

This is definitely interesting news for the fanbase. There's always a special place for classic heroes like the Cybermen and their clunky get-ups and the Weeping Angels that always make viewers hearts pound with their terrifying demeanor.

Of course, that wasn't the only question that the showrunner responded to during his appearance at the screening of Doctor Who's "Resolution." Fans also asked about Graham and Ryan's bond that grew after the death of Grace, a relationship that set Yaz aside and slowed her development. One fan, in particular, wanted to know more about Yaz's career in police work in Doctor Who season 11.

"That's a really good question. I think that some of these questions may be answered in the forthcoming season. I think that's the first teaser of the series! Really good question," the showrunner responded.

We definitely can't wait for season 12 to drop. The Doctor Who New Year Special drops tonight, 12 pm ET on BBC.
