There is little doubt that David Tennant's incarnation of the Time Lord is a Doctor Who fan favorite and people are still hoping that the Jessica Jones star would reprise his role as the Tenth Doctor in the series. So what are the chances that Tennant will be returning to the show? Tennant has teased the possibility that he could actually return in Doctor Who!
David Tennant is well aware of how Whovians want the Tenth Doctor to return in the upcoming episodes of Doctor Who. The Good Omens star recently attended a German Comic-Con where he was once again asked if he will be returning in a Doctor Who special episode. Interestingly, Tennant had a cheeky response.
"The thing about this I've been asked a version of this question for the last 20 years and I've learnt through bitter experience that there's not any point even answering it because whatever I say is spun by whoever wants to hear it," Tennant said.
He continued, "So there's no point in me denying it, there's no point in me confirming it, there's no point to be fudging it. Whatever I say will become whatever the internet wants it to be."
At this point, it's unclear whether David Tennant is hiding the truth or simply teasing Whovians for their obsession with the Tenth Doctor's return. On the other hand, people are still hoping that we'll get to see Tennant back in action very soon.
David Tennant played the Tenth Doctor from 2005 to 2010. He later reprised the role for Doctor Who's 50th anniversary in 2013. It has not yet been confirmed whether he or any other Doctor will return for the 60th anniversary in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
In the meantime, Jodie Whittaker is set to return as the 13th Doctor in the third and final Doctor Who special episode of the year. The episode has not yet been given an official release date.
