Doctor Who: David Tennant Confirmed to Return in New Audio Drama

The Tenth Doctor is coming back! A new Doctor Who audio drama will bring back David Tennant's incarnation of the Time Lord. In addition to that, Ten will be joined by some former Companions who could be the best people to help him in his latest adventure!

Big Finish Productions has officially announced Doctor Who: Tenth Doctor Classic Companions, the new audio drama starring David Tennant. The new drama will also star Sophie Aldred, Louise Jameson and Sarah Sutton, who previously played Ace, Leela, and Nyssa, respectively. In addition to that, the Tenth Doctor will be reunited with his beloved robot dog K9.

In Tenth Doctor Classic Companions, Ten "revisits his companions K9, Leela, Ace and Nyssa long after their time-travelling adventures have finished. Because they all need help, and when people need help, the Doctor will never refuse..."

It's great to know that David Tennant will return in the Doctor Who audio drama and will be working with some of the Time Lord's classic Companions. However, fans are also wondering if there is a chance that the Good Omens star will reprise his role in a special episode.

Whovians have been hoping that the Tenth Doctor will return in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special. When asked once again during a German Comic-Con, Tennant decided to play coy.

"The thing about this I've been asked a version of this question for the last 20 years and I've learnt through bitter experience that there's not any point even answering it because whatever I say is spun by whoever wants to hear it," Tennant said.

Doctor Who: Tenth Doctor Classic Companions will be available in September 2022. The Doctor Who 60th anniversary will be celebrated in 2023 but details about the special episode have not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
