Doctor Strange’s Mordo Debuts in Marvel Contest of Champions

Magic and mystics are not yet done with Marvel games. This time, it will be Mordo for his debut in Marvel Contest of Champions. His goal is to make sure that his dimension is far from harm when it comes to the dark forces that threaten his dimension.

Over at Marvel, Kabam's Gabriel Frizzera, Piero Herrera, and Dominic O'Grady explain what exactly Mordo's quest in the game will be. The Collector appears to be interested in getting new mystics on board for the Contest. And Mordo is a close running in terms of skills and abilities as Doctor Strange.

"We wanted him to have an arsenal of magic tricks that are well-known staples of the Doctor Strange mystic universe, but that we didn't have a chance to try with Doctor Strange himself. Stuff like astral bodies, mystic shields, and dimensional manipulation."

When playing Mordo, he even has a level three special move that comes straight from Doctor Strange. What he can do is transport players to the Mirror Realm, where he can shape the world.

As a fighter, Mordo will add another body in the defensive roster. He will make use of stun manipulation, which will make him quite the formidable opponent. What's more, he can up his defensive move when controlled by the CPU. So unless players can counter him correctly, he will be able to gather enough Power to execute a Special 3 and summon the Mirror Dimension.

It helps that he has other interesting powers, such as the Soul Barb, which can do damage over time. There's also Astral Evade, which sees his form protecting a stunned Mordo from attacks.

Mordo is already accessible via the Marvel Contest of Champions Sorcerer's Conclave event. He is also already available in the Contest, for those who want to sample his powers in the game.
