Final Fantasy XV Gets More Info on Sub-Weapons, Ability Call System & More

Square Enix is continuing some more information dump for Final Fantasy XV. This time, it has released details on some the new call system and the new summon that Noctis can call out.

The new Ability Call is one way for players to improve their personal abilities. According to Gematsu, players can accumulate and make use of Ability Points. This system makes use of points, wherein players can use abilities based on the actions that they perform. The abilities can be learned and unlocked using AP. And depending on your choice, you can strengthen your party in a customized way—and potentially very different from how other players create theirs.

This complements the sub-weapons, which are basically the weapons that can be used by the three other guys in the party. Gladiolus's specializes on shields, Ignis makes use of lances, and Prompto is responsible for the machinery. Similar to Noctis, players can configure the weapons that each of the other party members use so they can switch accordingly.

For Noctis, he has the extra ability to summon the dancing Shiva. This summon can bring a winter scenery into the land, if there are a lot of them gathered. They are very reminiscent of mermaid characters, only this time, they're snow fairies with an all-white design.

Also, the city of Altissia seems to take quite the inspiration from the Venice landscape. It features some very laidback components, old and rustic buildings, and the very telling gondola rides that players can take around town. The developers really went wild with the details for the city.

Final Fantasy XV will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One on. Nov. 29.
