Marvel has been teasing a lot of new Doctor Strange clips left and right. The latest is a featurette that gathers the main cast on what their thoughts are of the man behind Doctor Strange’s alter ego, Stephen Strange
For those who are not familiar with Strange, star Benedict Cumberbatch describes him as basically an arrogant but brilliant control freak who wants to be in charge of all the aspects of life, even death—thus seeing him in the profession of a surgeon.
Of course, that all changes when he has his accident, which takes away the use of his hands. We see his life as a surgeon fall apart, but see him rise to become the Sorcerer Supreme.
The featurette also shows a few more scenes, particularly some glimpses of Rachel McAdams’s role. We see her as one of Strange’s attending doctors, but there’s a scene where she’s at his bedside in what looks like a more intimate scene, so we know she’s more than just a random doctor.
Producer Kevin Feige also gives his two cents’, this time about the villains, led by Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius.
“We’re excited about the villains in this film. These are people who become seduced by what’s on the other side. They’re interested in spilling the barriers between these dimensions, which would annihilate our entire universe.”
So in a nutshell, what can we expect of Doctor Strange? Cumberbatch gives a nice summary sneak peek:
“There’s a lot of real-world live action in this film. There’s a lot of drama, a lot of comedy. There’s also the most extraordinary fantastical adventure. I think it’s gonna be a great cinematic ride.”
That last bit seems to be hinting heavily on the promised trippy psychedelic vibe that the mystical world that Doctor Strange will deliver.
Doctor Strange will be out in theaters on Nov. 4.
