The entire Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom is still reeling from the events that took place in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and that of course includes the mind-blowing cameos that had everyone on the edge of their seats. Now, if you thought the said cameos were quite excessive, it turns out that Marvel Studios had plans of adding more characters to the mix and one of them would have made a lot of sense, at least in Wanda Maximoff's arc.

According to James Clement of the Weekly Planet podcast, X-Men
"prequels" actor Michael Fassbender "was going to turn up as Magneto" in the MCU blockbuster. He also claims that the Irish actor actually filmed his scene but was ultimately cut for reasons that were not disclosed.

Of course, longtime fans of the Scarlet Witch and X-Men lore know that Erik Lensherr is the biological father of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff so it would be safe to assume that the scrapped sequence was actually being set up as a pivotal moment in the film.

If this new report is actually true, it's definitely a huge bummer that we never got to see it happen in the film but in hindsight, I'm actually glad it ended up getting removed because frankly, Multiverse of Madness was already overcrowded with only a two-hour runtime.

And with Elizabeth Olsen rumored to be getting her own standalone Scarlet Witch film, I think we can all agree that would be the perfect avenue for Marvel to explore her mutant origins.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is screening in cinemas.
