Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Official Runtime Finally Revealed

We're now a few weeks away before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters and a lot of fans have been excited and speculating about the surprises that the film has in store, especially since it deals with the multiverse and the appearances of several beloved Marvel characters including Patrick Stewart returning as Charles Xavier, which was confirmed by the second trailer.

There have also been speculations about the film's running time especially since it was previously rumored that it will be almost 150 minutes. But as it turns out, that is not actually the case as the official runtime will actually be shorter than expected.

Fandango has revealed that the official runtime for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be 126 minutes or 2 hours and 6 minutes which is significantly shorter than the initially rumored runtime. It would also mean that the upcoming sequel will be shorter than Spider-Man: No Way Home (2 hours and 28 minutes), but it will be 11 minutes longer than the first Doctor Strange film which has a runtime of 1 hour and 55 minutes.

While Marvel Studios hasn't officially confirmed the runtime themselves, Fandango is very reliable when it comes to this since it's a ticketing site and they usually gather information such as the runtime from the studios. Tickets will officially go on sale this coming Wednesday, April 6.

This revelation came as a surprise for some fans given that it was expected that the film will have a similar running time as Spider-Man: No Way Home since it is also dealing with the multiverse and will potentially have cameo appearances of many Marvel characters which might take a lot of running time.

So what does a 126-minute runtime mean for the film? It shows that director Sam Raimi is keeping the story tight and it might be more fast-paced than some of the MCU films. Of course, we won't know if this is the best runtime for the film until when we finally see it. Right now, all we can do is speculate about what might happen and this is definitely a clue on the scope of the story that they are telling in the upcoming film.
