Akane is an actress who is Aqua’s co-star in LoveNow, a reality dating show. During the reality show, Aqua saves Akane when she is embroiled in a messy controversy.
When Akane decides to end her life, it is Aqua who stops her. He even ensures to release a video that will redeem her reputation among fans of LoveNow.
Akane and Aqua are a fake couple in the reality dating show, but Akane seems to have feelings for him.
For the world, they make a perfect couple who go on dates and spend quality time with each other.
But do they really end up dating each other for real? Let’s find out!
Do Akane and Aqua End Up Together?
In the Oshi no Ko manga, Akane and Aqua treat their relationship professionally based on the norm of the reality dating show.
However, Akane finds out about Ai and Aqua’s mother-son relationship and she is willing to support Aqua.
As they come closer to each other and form a deeper bond, Akane and Aqua turn from a reel couple to a real couple.
With time, Aqua notes that for Akane, loyalty is important, and he starts to become sincere toward her.
Meanwhile, Akane truly appreciates Aqua’s intent and the efforts he was putting into the relationship.
In several instances, Aqua has proved that he is one of the best boyfriends around.
During a stormy day, Aqua makes sure he goes to her studio and escorts her back.
He would also text thoughtful replies to Akane’s messages. He also checks on her and tells her to sleep on time.
In the meantime, Akane learns that Aqua is looking for Ai’s killer, so she offers to help him in any way possible.
Akane starts researching to identify the killer. However, she knows that when Aqua finally confronts the killer, he would take matters into his own hands.
Therefore, she doesn’t want the killer and Aqua to cross each other’s paths.
Eventually, Aqua finally learns the identity of Ai’s killer because of Akane.
Aqua finally decides that it is time to part ways with her. He is truly grateful for her efforts but he doesn’t want Akane to get her hands dirty in this mess.
Aqua tells Akane that he will walk this path alone as he sets his eyes on the target.
Meanwhile, Akane is disappointed in herself for not being able to help Aqua.
So for now, Akane and Aqua are not together in the series. However, the Oshi no Ko manga is still ongoing and it remains to be seen if Akane and Aqua will become lovers again at some point.
