Disney CEO Bob Iger is shooting down the idea that the movie audience is suffering from Marvel fatigue.
For the past few years, there have been concerns about superhero movie fatigue, particularly with the Marvel movies, due to the surge in the number of projects that they have released, and yet the quality is not living up.
It was more notable last year as two MCU film releases last year underperformed at the box office and some people see it as a sign that the audience might be weary of the franchise.

Bob Iger Does Not Believe in Marvel Fatigue
As reported by ComicBook.com, during his recent appearance at the Morgan Stanley conference, Iger dismissed the idea that the audience is suffering from fatigue with Marvel movies.
He argued that the audience is simply clamoring for "great films" and cited the box office success of Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer as an example.
"A lot of people think it's audience fatigue, it's not audience fatigue. They want great films," Iger said.
"And if you build it great, they will come and there are countless examples of that. Some are ours and some are others. Oppenheimer is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film."
Iger also shared that they are already making moves by reducing the output of Marvel projects and he is confident in the new direction that they are going.
He added, "Focus is really important. We reduced the output of Marvel, both number of films they make, and the number of TV shows, and that really becomes critical, but I feel good about the team. I feel good about the IP we're making. I talked about a lot of the projects. We look years ahead, really. And it's iterative."
Despite the recent underperformance of the MCU projects, it sounds like Iger still has confidence in its future and he is aware of the importance of making sure that the franchise will be in the right direction.
A lot of fans are looking at Deadpool & Wolverine as the indicator of whether it could save the franchise from having a bleak future. It is interesting to see what kind of reception it will receive.
